Weeks after getting engaged, Miley Cyrus is still getting used to having a fiancé.

The Something Beautiful singer, 33, attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Saturday (January 3) where she spoke with Entertainment Tonight about her recent engagement to Maxx Morando, 27. Despite the happy nature of the news, Cyrus admitted that she "gets so cringed out" referring to the Liily drummer as her fiancé, per People.

"I'm kind of dorkiest with stuff like that," she said.

The "Flowers" hitmaker also noted that her engagement came at a "perfect time," comparing the exciting new chapter in her life to the way director James Cameron puts an emphasis on relationships in his films like Avatar: Fire and Ash. Cyrus' song "Dream as One" is featured on the film's soundtrack.

"So to be able to show up joyful and experience love in my own way is just perfectly aligned," she said. "It just fell into my life at the perfect time. I feel like I'm in a good place to support the message of what this film's about."

Cyrus confirmed in December 2025 that she and Morando were engaged after four years of dating. The couple first sparked engagement rumors while walking the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1 when she was seen sporting was looked to be a diamond engagement ring; however, she was also seen wearing the sparkler in a November Instagram post celebrating her 33rd birthday.

As for the big day, the couple are reportedly considering eloping as Cyrus is "not super into the idea of doing another wedding" and isn't interested in doing "anything traditional."
