Kristin Cavallari is a newly-single woman in the spotlight, so she has seen her fair share of people sliding into her DMs trying to shoot their shot. However, not every message has been a request for a date.
On the Tuesday (October 29) episode of her podcast Let's Be Honest, the 37-year-old Laguna Beach alum chatted with celebrity chef Bobby Flay about the time she seemingly rejected him after he sent her a message asking her to dinner, per Page Six.
"I DMed you and I said to you... 'I'm going to be in Nashville for one night, can I take you to dinner?'" he recalled. "And you literally said something like, 'I'm already dating somebody.'"
Cavallari remembered the moment differently, saying she told him she was "over dating right now" and "burnt out" but a laughing Flay hit back, 'No, you said, 'I've already started seeing somebody'! And I said, 'I just want to go to dinner with you.'"
However, it appeared to be a total misunderstanding as he was simply wanting to catch up with a friend. Calling it a "foot in mouth" moment, Cavallari admitted she shouldn't have assumed Flay was asking her on a date, though she noted the wording of his message "[seemed] like a date." Despite the miscommunication, they ended up getting together and having "the best time."
Cavallari recently split from her 24-year-old ex Mark Estes after seven months of dating following concerns over their 13-year age gap affecting their "long-term" goals. The Hills star was also previously married to former NFL star Jay Cutler, with whom she shares three children, sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 8.
